Lyrics from older songs
Carlo
Well I met a guy walking down the street the other day
And he said his name was... 'Carlo'
So I asked him what he was doing in my town
He said he was looking for a job
A job... As a street sweeper... street sweeper
So he was running round like a headless chicken looking for this new job
And I sent him over to the Job Centre so they could help him out
But the thing is that he went over so often that they got to know him
And got to love him
So they just gave him a job there... In the job centre
Carlo - It's everything about you
Carlo - you keep us all from feeling blue
Carlo - ooo-ooo-ooo
Marco loves you, Pablo loves you
Pedro loves you, We all love you!
When I met Carlo for the second time he was with a friend
from his own country
And she was called... Oh what was her name... 'Nicky'
Oh yeh, so I asked her why she was here with Carlo
She was looking for a job too... In the job centre
Carlo - It's everything about you
Carlo - you keep us all from feeling blue
Carlo - ooo-ooo-ooo
Marco loves you, Pablo loves you
Pedro loves you, We all love you
Castle Street
You walked right past
I think I saw you smile
You walked too fast
I got left behind
It was Castle Street
Where I saw your face
I'd like to think you're sweet
I hope we meet again
You're gone but now I see
That you should be with me
And every time a girl's on Castle Street
I hope it's you
I think it's you
The days fly past
The way you rushed on by
I still hear your steps
But I don't know why
I wish I'd said
Something to make you stop
I had an empty head
I wish I had a thought
You're gone but now I see
That you should be with me
And every time a girl's on Castle Street
I hope it's you
I think it's you
One day last week
I saw a head like yours
I ran down the street
It was a different girl
You're gone but now I see
That you should be with me
And every time a girl's on Castle Street
I hope it's you
I think it's you... It's never you...
He Said
He walked back home, his chest was sore,
She didn't love him anymore.
He couldn't talk 'cause he felt so hurt,
She just said, "it didn't work"
He wondered why she held his hand,
And why she said she was in love.
Apparently that's what you do,
Even if they're not the one.
"Why did you waste my time"
He said!
"Why did you say those lines"
He Said!
"I really was love,
But hey that's life, i guess it's tough"
He Said
He thought about what she had said,
It wrecked his brain and it hurt his head,
Then he began to realise,
He hated her and all those lies.
"Why did I waste my time"
He said
"Why did I say those lines"
He said
"I never was in love"
Don't know what i was thinking of"
He Said
One week on she calls him up,
To say they shouldn't have broke up,
She says "you know, I do love you",
He says "thank god I love you too"
"Why did we waste that time"
He said
"Why did we says those lines"
He said
"We always were in love,
Don't know what we were thinkin' of"
"I loved you from the start"
He said
"That break-up broke my heart"
He Said
But now they're back again,
And I just hope that she loves him.
I Don't Know
I think I'm gonna explode,
'Cause you never say all the things you wanna say.
And I'm bold,
'Cause I'll try to make you tell me everything
It's hard to read your mind.
What do you mean by fine?
I don't know what you're thinkin' 'bout (x4)
Unless you're thinkin' the same,
Thinkin' the same.
Thinkin' the same.
Thinking the same as me
I'll wait to say hi,
Just to see if you will say it first,
And I don't really know why,
But it feels liek you should show me that you care.
You talk about guys.
Are you trying to make me jealous or something
I pretend I don't mind.
But you know I do 'cause I like to think you're mind
It's hard to read your mind.
What do you mean by fine?
I don't know what you're thinkin' 'bout (x4)
Unless you're thinkin' the same,
Thinkin' the same.
Thinkin' the same.
Thinking the same as me
I'm flirting with you,
And I don't know if I really should,
'Cause you, well, you won't be rude.
But I wish you would 'cause I don't know where we are
It's hard to read your mind.
What do you mean by fine?
I don't know what you're thinkin' 'bout (x4)
Unless you're thinkin' the same,
Thinkin' the same.
Thinkin' the same.
Thinking the same as me
Notepad
Me, I'm just an ordinary boy,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I can't think of my work,
I'm just thinking of you.
I can stare into your eyes,
And you can smile back at mine,
But we should write something down and not waste any time.
I'll write your name on my notepad
You write my name on your things.
We can write our names together and be,
Together in file paper dreams
You, You're just an ordinary girl,
But there is something in you,
That makes me mix up my words,
When I'm talking to you.
But you don't mind what I say,
Because you're nice in that way,
But I will try to make sense 'cause I want you to stay.
I'll write your name on my notepad
You write my name on your things.
We can write our names together and be,
Together in file paper dreams
Take Me Home (To Marnabrae)
I'm standing in a line for too much time and I'm so tired
I wish that anybody would just cone and take me home
But the way I work from town to town with pit stops in between
It sometimes makes me feel like I am never coming home
So take me home to Marnabrae
The street where I was born where the sky is never grey
Take me home to Marnabrae
The street where I was born, I wish I'd never gone away
It's taking too much time to get my baggage off the belt
This woman keeps on pushing me like hers is coming next
But I'm not even thinking ‘cause there's crying in my ear
From a baby in a pram who makes me wish I wasn't here
So take me home to Marnabrae
The street where I was born where the sky is never grey
Take me home to Marnabrae
The greenest grass of home I wish I'd never gone away
It's stinking in this terminal I'm tryin' not to breathe
But this big guy right beside me keeps in saying he's called Steve
I hustle through the crowd to catch a cab but it's not there
Then one comes along but Steve jumps in and he don't share
So take me home to Marnabrae
The street where I was born where the sky is never grey
Take me home to Marnabrae
The greenest grass of home I wish I'd never gone away
Who Said That
'Too nice for words', who said that?
I'm trying to think who said that
She doesn't realise that everybody lies
Apart from her
That's why she's too nice
I'm trying to think who said that
Explain to her who said that
And everybody knows it's as true as truth could be
But she thinks that they are trying to bring her down
She thinks it's you who said that
She thinks you're trying to get at her
And I know that you meant good
But she thinks it was a dig
And that everyone will walk all over her
Please just explain to her
And then she'll be nice again
Because she's been hard as nails since you said that
